ALOT Toolbar is a semi-malicious browser add-on. While masquerading as a useful search-related for mainstream niche information like cooking recipes or parenting topics, ALOT Toolbar creates unwanted advertisements and alters your homepage. ALOT Toolbar may also redirect your browser to dangerous websites or use advertisements that contain links to such sites. Overall, ALOT Toolbar is nothing but a nuisance to the user of the computer ALOT Toolbar is on; you should delete ALOT Toolbar and to avoid becoming a new source of earnings for the company behind this poor browser product.ALOT Toolbar isn’t the Most Helpful of Browser Helpers
The company behind ALOT Toolbar does its best to market ALOT Toolbar as a friendly search engine toolbar application, but that’s only part of the real story. After beginning its life as a registered Browser Helper Object (BHO), ALOT Toolbar starts creating pop-up advertisement without your permission. Those advertisements will not leave until ALOT Toolbar itself leaves, too. You’ll definitely know if ALOT Toolbar is still around – a lot Toolbar’s toolbar will be very prominent on your web browser of choice.
Your search results may be hijacked to allow ALOT Toolbar to reap profits from your traffic. This can redirect you to dangerous sites or simply interfere with your ability to find the websites you actually want.
ALOT Toolbar also changes your browser’s default homepage to ask.com, giving the site more traffic and preventing you from enjoying the convenience of a homepage of your choosing. Attempts to revert the homepage back to a previous one will usually fail.
ALOT Toolbar is a Tricky ‘Helper’ to Remove
Different users have reported experiences of varying difficulty when trying to remove ALOT Toolbar from their PCs. Some, none, or all of the following may occur:
- ALOT Toolbar may not show up in your Program Files folder. In some cases, the program files may be hiding under the Hidden folder and file attribute. You can see folders with this attribute by changing settings under the View tab of the Folder Options menu (available under the Tools category).
- ALOT Toolbar may or may not show up in Control Panel’s provided Add/Remove Programs listings. If it is, you can remove ALOT Toolbar as you would remove any normal application, but this removal method may be incomplete. You’re advised to run a good anti-malware scan to follow this up just in case.
- Another possibility for getting rid of ALOT Toolbar is to uninstall ALOT Toolbar through your browser’s add-ons management interface. As with other methods, ALOT Toolbar may or may not allow itself to be flushed out in this fashion, but it’s worth a try if you currently lack access to other uninstallation tactics.
Deleting ALOT Toolbar can be done easily by any anti-malware program with a reasonably updated threat database. Just remember to close all browser windows when your favorite anti-malware application is scanning your system, or else ALOT Toolbar may make it through unscathed!

SPYHUNTER is indeed useful as ALOT bypasses most Spyware and Antivirus scanners but the best way is a manual removal of each and every component! Its a nightmare! As with any of these toolbars – A simple uninstall or spyware NEVER enough!
