Advanced Defender is a rogue anti-spyware program that produces a fake scan to alert potential victims of security risks on their PCs. Advanced Defender uses trojans to gain entry into the computer. Sometimes executing prompts from malicious websites may also lead to the installation of Advanced Defender.

This unwanted program will exhibit a number of alerts that redirect the Internet browser to a website which recommends a purchase of Advanced Defender to remove viruses.
