I bought the AntiSpyware Shield and didnt realize until after a computer technician downloaded Norton virus removal that it was a scam. What should I do? Should I call my credit card company?

Vanessa,

You can try to call your credit card company, but the chance to get your money back is very low. The main goal of fake anti-spyware makers is to swindle out of the money from non-experienced users.

This AntiSpyware loaded onto a friend\'s computer has taken over the computer and turned it into a zombie computer. Completely taken over the IE browser and redirects URLs and searches to where it wants. After seeing this, I\'m not totally convinced that the SpyHunter Free AntiSpyware Shield Scanner will get rid of it. Could be another scam. Plus the directions above dont connect with reality. The AntiSpyware Shield Scanner Remove capability has been disabled. There is no way to remove based on Steps 1 & 2 because the program doesn\'t appear where they say it does. You can turn it off via the Task Manager but that doesn\'t remove it.
