Antivirus Protection Center is a phony anti-spyware application that is designed with the intent to rip-off computer users. Antivirus Protection Center comes in the form of a free edition and one that is paid for. Antivirus Protection Center essentially does not detect or remove any type of legitimate computer parasites. Backup Reminder: Always be sure to back up your PC before making any changes.To remove Antivirus Protection Center, you must first stop any Antivirus Protection Center processes that are running in your computer's memory. To stop all Antivirus Protection Center processes, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Windows Task Manager. Click on the "Processes" tab, search for Antivirus Protection Center, then right-click it and select "End Process" key.
To delete Antivirus Protection Center registry keys, open the Windows Registry Editor by clicking on the Windows "Start" button and selecting "Run." Type "regedit" into the box and click "OK." Once the Registry Editor is open, search for the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Antivirus Protection Center." Right-click this registry key and select "Delete."
Finally, to completely get rid of Antivirus Protection Center, you must manually remove other Antivirus Protection Center files. These Antivirus Protection Center files can be in the form of EXE, DLL, LSP, TOOLBAR, BROWSER HIJACK, and/or BROWSER PLUGIN. For example, Antivirus Protection Center might create a file like
%PROGRAM_FILES%\Antivirus Protection Center\Antivirus Protection Center.exe. Locate and remove these files.
