I HAVE DR. GUARD INSTALLED IN MY COMPUTER ON 13TH OF MAR 2010..
SINCE THEN IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE MENTIONED PROBLEMS I AM FACING THESE PROBLEMS AS WELL…
1. WINDOWS DEFENDER DOES NOT OPEN, EVERY TIME I TRY TO OPEN IT.. WINDOWS AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS DOWN.
2. CANNOT OPEN THIS PAGE FROM MY COMPUTER.. I AM UNABLE TO INSTALL/DOWNLOAD ANY ANTI-VIRUS/ANTI MALWARE/ANTI SPYWARE PROGRAMMES.
3. MY CURRENT ANTI VIRUS (AVG 8.5) HAS BEEN CORRUPTED AND DOES NOT SCAN MY COMPUTER.
4. SYSTEM SECUITY SETTINGS HAVE BEEN COMPROMISE, HENCE SITES CONTAINING DANGEROUS VIRUSES KEEP POPPING UP. I KNOW THIS COS I CHECKED SOME OF THE WEBSITES AND THEY WERE DEEMED TO BE DANGEROUS.
CAN U PLEASE EMAIL ME A SOLUTION ON THE ABOVE MENTIONED EMAIL ADDRESS. EAGERLY AWAITING UR REPLY.
THANK YOU.
I think my system might be infected with the Dr. Guard trojan, but am not sure. I am not that computer savvy, so please help!
I am afraid that the trojan downloaded and installed itself like you mentioned above, so I took the steps to investigate by going through the Task Manager. None of the extensions appeared in the processes, so does that mean I am safe? I also scanned my computer twice looking for files or filenames and found nothing
I found nothing in the task manager that looked like this:
%UserProfile%\\\\LOCALS~1\\\\Temp\\\\asr64_ldm.exe
C:\\\\Program Files\\\\DrGuard\\\\uninstall.exe
C:\\\\Program Files\\\\DrGuard\\\\drguard.exe
so does that mean I\\\’m ok?
If my computer is in fact infected, I certainly don\’t want to purchase software over the web for fear of my # getting stolen.
Please advise! Thanks!
What makes me wonder, since my computer just yesterday was infected by Dr. Guard. I didnt click on any links or didnt go into websites i normally dont go into. Is that my husband can not access the task manager. So what should he do?
