Good Memory

Good Memory Description

ScreenshotGood Memory is a rogue defragmenter tool from the same family as Win Scanner and My Disk. Like most other rogue security programs, Good Memory creates inaccurate system alerts to make the PC user think that their computer is in terrible shape. You may also experience applications being blocked by Good Memory without good cause, as well as files and folders being hidden in the Windows interface. Removing Good Memory is strongly encouraged, since purchasing Good Memory will do nothing but waste your money and allow Good Memory to wreak more havoc on your computer.

Good Memory: Not a Program You’ll Have Fond Memories Of

Good Memory is a simple copy of other rogue defragmenters like Fast Disk, My Disk, Win Scanner, HDD OK and HDD Rescue. A simple glance at each of these programs will show you that they’re all basic reskins of each other, and the attacks they make on your computer are also about the same.

Good Memory pretends to optimize your RAM, offer proactive system protection, clean junk files from your computer and defragment your hard drive, but what Good Memory actually does is to create a lot of false positive warnings. Some of Good Memory’s most common pop-up alerts include, but aren’t limited to:

Requested registry access is not allowed. Registry defragmentation required

32% of HDD space is unreadable

Bad sectors on hard drive or damaged file allocation table

System Restore
The system has been restored after a critical error. Data integrity and hard drive integrity verification required.

Read time of hard drive clusters less than 500 ms

Drive C initializing error

Hard drive doesn’t respond to system commands

Windows detected a hard drive problem.
A hard drive error occurred while starting the application.

Data Safety Problem.
Download SpyHunter Spyware Scanner
System integrity is at risk.

Ram Temperature is 83 C. Optimization is required for normal operation.

GPU RAM temperature is critically high. Urgent RAM memory optimization is required to prevent system crash

Registry Error – Critical Error

Critical Error
A critical error has occurred while indexing data stored on hard drive. System restart required.

Windows cannot find [executable file]. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.

Good Memory makes no attempt to scan your PC or locate any of these problems, and so all of Good Memory’s warnings should be ignored as simple ruses. The same goes for Good Memory’s system scans, which don’t really scan your computer – they just put up a display that presents terrible problems that you, of course, have to spend money to fix.

Banishing the Not So Good Memory from Your PC

Even if you know that Good Memory is just a scam, your efforts to remove Good Memory may be complicated by other issues that make it hard to resume normal computer operations:
  • Good Memory may display some of the errors listed above while stopping different applications. Even innocent programs like Notepad may be blocked, but this blockage is most troublesome when it targets anti-malware programs that could delete Good Memory.
  • Good Memory may hide your files and folders, or make it appear as though the contents of one folder is in a different folder. This is a simple abuse of the Windows interface that only alters appearances – you should remember that the actual files are completely safe.

The easiest way to shut down Good Memory’s attacks is to reboot into Safe Mode, which stops harmful processes like Good Memory from launching by default. Since Good Memory uses Registry entries and other components that are challenging to remove without side effects, you should delete Good Memory with the help of an anti-malware scanner if one is available.

If Good Memory is still proving troublesome to get rid of, you can try faking registration with this code: ’0973467457475070215340537432225.’ This may cause Good Memory to reduce its more serious attacks, since Good Memory thinks that it’s fulfilled Good Mermory’s fraudulent obligations.
