HDD Rescue (or HDDRescue) is a rogue optimization program created to lure you to purchase its full version. HDD Rescue comes from a line of fake hard disk defragmenters or optimization applications such as Win HDD, HDD Control, HDD Defragmenter, HDD Diagnostic, HDD Plus, HDD Repair, and HDD Scan.

HDD Rescue uses clever, yet false, error messages that can frighten a naive computer user into thinking there’s a problem with their hard drive or RAM memory. Some of the bogus error messages claim there’s RAM memory failure, Windows can’t find hard disk space or private data is at risk.
