Spy Eye Description

Spy Eye is a Trojan creation toolkit that hackers use to create malicious parasites enabling them to setup a botnet network or password stealing Trojans. Spy Eye, or SpyEye, is sometimes sold to cybercrooks. Once in the hands of hackers, Spy Eye can be used to create Trojans that are specifically designed to steal login credentials to online banking accounts. Spy Eye is usually found on Russian cybercrime forums where the hackers share the toolkit amongst others.

Spy Eye Manual Removal Instructions

Backup Reminder: Always be sure to back up your PC before making any changes.




To remove Spy Eye, you must first stop any Spy Eye processes that are running in your computer's memory. To stop all Spy Eye processes, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Windows Task Manager. Click on the "Processes" tab, search for Spy Eye, then right-click it and select "End Process" key.

To delete Spy Eye registry keys, open the Windows Registry Editor by clicking on the Windows "Start" button and selecting "Run." Type "regedit" into the box and click "OK." Once the Registry Editor is open, search for the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Spy Eye." Right-click this registry key and select "Delete."

Finally, to completely get rid of Spy Eye, you must manually remove other Spy Eye files. These Spy Eye files can be in the form of EXE, DLL, LSP, TOOLBAR, BROWSER HIJACK, and/or BROWSER PLUGIN. For example, Spy Eye might create a file like
%PROGRAM_FILES%\Spy Eye\Spy Eye.exe. Locate and remove these files.
