W32.Ackantta.B@mm is a self-replicating computer worm. It propagates by taking advantage of the vulnerabilities it finds in operating systems. Once active on your PC, W32.Ackantta.B@mm gathers emails from the infected computer and mass-mails itself as an email attachment with scam messages. It would appear that this worm was designed simply to spread as far and as wide as possible without causing your system any serious damage. However, you should remove it nonetheless and as soon as possible.
