W32/Bobax Description
W32/Bobax is a mass-mailing worm that spreads through email and infects Windows system. W32/Bobax spreads with a random filename and carries a spoofed 'From' address picked up randomly from the infected system. Upon execution of the infected attachment, W32/Bobax copies itself in a random name with an .exe extension under the Windows System folder. To propagate itself, W32/Bobax gathers email addresses from the Windows Address Book and Windows Messenger Contact list of the infected system. W32/Bobax mails an infected file detected as W32/Small.AXR to these addresses using its own SMTP engine.

W32/Bobax Manual Removal Instructions
Backup Reminder: Always be sure to back up your PC before making any changes.To remove W32/Bobax, you must first stop any W32/Bobax processes that are running in your computer's memory. To stop all W32/Bobax processes, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Windows Task Manager. Click on the "Processes" tab, search for W32/Bobax, then right-click it and select "End Process" key.
To delete W32/Bobax registry keys, open the Windows Registry Editor by clicking on the Windows "Start" button and selecting "Run." Type "regedit" into the box and click "OK." Once the Registry Editor is open, search for the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\W32/Bobax." Right-click this registry key and select "Delete."
Finally, to completely get rid of W32/Bobax, you must manually remove other W32/Bobax files. These W32/Bobax files can be in the form of EXE, DLL, LSP, TOOLBAR, BROWSER HIJACK, and/or BROWSER PLUGIN. For example, W32/Bobax might create a file like
%PROGRAM_FILES%\W32/Bobax\W32/Bobax.exe. Locate and remove these files.
