W32/FBound Description

W32/FBound is an Internet worm that arrives in an infected email. W32/FBound does not have a destructive payload, also it does not change any registry values and does not drop any files. W32/FBound uses its own SMTP routine for spreading in the Internet. While it does no known damage to a system, it does email itself to everybody in your address book.

To remove W32/FBound, you must first stop any W32/FBound processes that are running in your computer's memory. To stop all W32/FBound processes, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Windows Task Manager. Click on the "Processes" tab, search for W32/FBound, then right-click it and select "End Process" key.

To delete W32/FBound registry keys, open the Windows Registry Editor by clicking on the Windows "Start" button and selecting "Run." Type "regedit" into the box and click "OK." Once the Registry Editor is open, search for the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\W32/FBound." Right-click this registry key and select "Delete."

Finally, to completely get rid of W32/FBound, you must manually remove other W32/FBound files. These W32/FBound files can be in the form of EXE, DLL, LSP, TOOLBAR, BROWSER HIJACK, and/or BROWSER PLUGIN. For example, W32/FBound might create a file like
%PROGRAM_FILES%\W32/FBound\W32/FBound.exe. Locate and remove these files.
