W32/IRCBot-AFU Description
W32/IRCBot-AFU is a worm from the notorious Win32.Worm worm stable. W32/IRCBot-AFU spreads using Windows networking APIs, MAPI functions or email clients such as Microsoft Outlook. W32/IRCBot-AFU often creates unknown email messages with a harmful program attached and, in some cases, attaches itself to outgoing email messages. W32/IRCBot-AFU spreads via a misleading message which suggests that the recipient should open the attachment to see something interesting or important. W32/IRCBot-AFU should not be allowed to spread and must be removed from the infected system immediately.

Backup Reminder: Always be sure to back up your PC before making any changes.To remove W32/IRCBot-AFU, you must first stop any W32/IRCBot-AFU processes that are running in your computer's memory. To stop all W32/IRCBot-AFU processes, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Windows Task Manager. Click on the "Processes" tab, search for W32/IRCBot-AFU, then right-click it and select "End Process" key.
To delete W32/IRCBot-AFU registry keys, open the Windows Registry Editor by clicking on the Windows "Start" button and selecting "Run." Type "regedit" into the box and click "OK." Once the Registry Editor is open, search for the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\W32/IRCBot-AFU." Right-click this registry key and select "Delete."
Finally, to completely get rid of W32/IRCBot-AFU, you must manually remove other W32/IRCBot-AFU files. These W32/IRCBot-AFU files can be in the form of EXE, DLL, LSP, TOOLBAR, BROWSER HIJACK, and/or BROWSER PLUGIN. For example, W32/IRCBot-AFU might create a file like
%PROGRAM_FILES%\W32/IRCBot-AFU\W32/IRCBot-AFU.exe. Locate and remove these files.
