Win32:Crypt-Fou Description
Win32:Crypt-Fou is a malicious Trojan which has the ability to compress itself to escape anti-virus programs. Win32:Crypt-Fou will attempt to connect to a remote server and transfer corrupt files onto the victim's computer. Win32:Crypt-Fou will then run a system scan which identifies all the corrupt files. This is how Win32:Crypt-Fou will try and fool unwary PC users into purchasing a rogue anti-virus kit. Do not fall prey to this scam! Have Win32:Crypt-Fou removed from the system immediately.

Backup Reminder: Always be sure to back up your PC before making any changes.To remove Win32:Crypt-Fou, you must first stop any Win32:Crypt-Fou processes that are running in your computer's memory. To stop all Win32:Crypt-Fou processes, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Windows Task Manager. Click on the "Processes" tab, search for Win32:Crypt-Fou, then right-click it and select "End Process" key.
To delete Win32:Crypt-Fou registry keys, open the Windows Registry Editor by clicking on the Windows "Start" button and selecting "Run." Type "regedit" into the box and click "OK." Once the Registry Editor is open, search for the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Win32:Crypt-Fou." Right-click this registry key and select "Delete."
Finally, to completely get rid of Win32:Crypt-Fou, you must manually remove other Win32:Crypt-Fou files. These Win32:Crypt-Fou files can be in the form of EXE, DLL, LSP, TOOLBAR, BROWSER HIJACK, and/or BROWSER PLUGIN. For example, Win32:Crypt-Fou might create a file like
%PROGRAM_FILES%\Win32:Crypt-Fou\Win32:Crypt-Fou.exe. Locate and remove these files.
