Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

Adware.Agent.npo is a basic adware program: a program that displays advertisements in your browser. Most variants of Adware.Agent.npo software don't appear to have any beneficial features that would make you consider keeping the program, although its evasiveness and deliberate attempts to avoid being identified may make it difficult to determine the source of any new browser malfunctions. Adware.Agent.npo contains some traits of low-level threats and should be considered a definite, although minor, threat to your PC. Consequentially, malware experts may find no solution to an Adware.Agent.npo infection preferable to removing Adware.Agent.npo with strong anti-malware tools.
A Quick Update that Leads to Quick Advertisements
Although this is awaiting confirmation by malware researchers, Adware.Agent.npo most may be distributed through torrenting networks and compromised sites, as these distribution methods have the most synergy with its disguise as an Adobe Flash update. Adware.Agent.npo installers bear different version names to trick users of different versions of Flash into 'patching' that graphics platform with a fake update, which installs Adware.Agent.npo.
Adware.Agent.npo then is detected, not through any obvious new programs, but through its advertisements. Because Adware.Agent.npo is designed and distributed as a threat, malware experts consider Adware.Agent.npo a low-level PC threat, rather than a PUP. Adware.Agent.npo has no advantages for your PC, but Adware.Agent.npo may cause problems including:
- New pop-up windows with advertisements.
- Injecting advertising content into Web pages unrelated to them. These advertisements may be graphical or text-based in format.
- Redirecting your browser to advertising sites. In some instances, these attacks may prevent you from loading other websites.
Adware.Agent.npo is also misidentified as a Trojan downloader or a worm sometimes, although malware experts haven't been able to verify any independent software-downloading or self-copying functions for Adware.Agent.npo. Adware.Agent.npo's advertisements usually will not be accompanied by other symptoms of a newly-installed program.
A New Season with Less of Adware.Agent.npo in It
The greatest frequencies of Adware.Agent.npo attacks appear to have occurred earlier in 2013 than the current date, but Adware.Agent.npo still is likely to be in distribution through toxic sites and networks.
Regardless, Adware.Agent.npo does forecast the continual efforts of threat authors to distribute new PC threats through the brand names of safe companies like Adobe, and malware researchers have an additional reason to advise all readers to avoid updating Flash from sources that aren't confirmed as safe.
With its disguised installation methods and dearth of visible software components, Adware.Agent.npo may be difficult to detect and isolate without anti-malware tools. Deleting Adware.Agent.npo manually always should be considered a last resort in cases where appropriate anti-malware software isn't available for disinfecting your computer, particularly due to the possibility of Adware.Agent.npo installers being bundled with various other categories of threats.
