Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

BearShare Mediabar is adware that comes bundled with certain file-sharing applications. Normal methods of removing programs will not delete BearShare Mediabar; BearShare Mediabar's removal require methods normally reserved for more dangerous malware. As an extension for Internet Explorer, BearShare Mediabar will create advertisements and attempt to alter your homepage repeatedly without your permission. Under normal circumstances, deleting BearShare Mediabar is the right thing to do, since BearShare Mediabar has no positive aspects for the user and may contain malicious links in BearShare Mediabar's advertisement.
BearShare Shares... Adware
Some versions of BearShare and similar file-sharing applications like iMesh will also install the BearShare Mediabar adware as part of a bundled installation process. BearShare Mediabar can also be identified as Media Bar 2.0 or iMesh Mediabar, depending on the type and version of the application. These file-sharing programs are non-malicious in and of themselves, but the BearShare Mediabar component is mildly malicious in nature.
Deleting iMesh or BearShare will not get rid of BearShare Mediabar, and even directly removing BearShare Mediabar through normal methods will fail. The BearShare Mediabar adware is designed to stick to your computer whether you want it or don't want it and requires malware-removal procedures to delete.
Since BearShare Mediabar is an Internet Explorer extension, BearShare Mediabar may not interfere as much if you use a different web browser. On the other hand, BearShare Mediabar has been reported to open IE windows even if you're using a different web-browsing program like Firefox or Chrome.
Advertisements are BearShare Mediabar's Only Media
If you're using BearShare or iMesh and wondering why you're getting pop-ups whenever you browse the web – wonder no longer, BearShare Mediabar is the source. Infected systems will also endure the forced display of 'pop-under' style advertisement, as well. A third unwanted symptom is BearShare Mediabar trying to switch your IE homepage, which BearShare Mediabar will do regardless of how many times you revert the change.
This behavior is irritating but not directly malicious, but in some cases, unwanted advertisement like the ones BearShare Mediabar provides are gateways to dangerous websites. Hostile sites can engage in 'drive-by' downloading behavior and force you to download malware if your browser settings aren't unusually cautious.
Even if you're not concerned with advertisement and arbitrary homepage alterations, the possibility of advertisement being used to link hostile sites is too likely to ignore safely. Regardless of other factors, it's a good reason to delete BearShare Mediabar rather than let it stick around, especially since the programs BearShare Mediabar is bundled with are now fairly outdated!

BEAR SHARE IS A WORST HOMEPAGE I'VE EVER SEEN.
BEAR SHARE IS VERY BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i want to remove bareshare mediabar from my computer!!!
BEARSHARE IS MORE THAN A LOTTERY SCAM AT LEAST YOU CAN IGNORE THE LATER.
Bareshare takes over your computer, so I want it removed!
I had a really good mediabarand somewhere down the track BearShare replaced it and I\'ve lost certain files or they don\'t work. I really detest this peer to peer crap. It\'s not the fist time this programe has changed the Defaults of my computer to what suits it best. My wife installed a programme and it was attached to it. I ended up having to take it to a computer geek friend to remove it along with all the nasty trogans and worms. Can\'t do that now. So I\'m stuck with it until I can find someone who knows what their doing to remove it. If I tried removing it, I\'d end up with a computer that won\'t be of much use other than and oversized paper weight
It keep saying that theres a ERROR!!!
