Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

Blockuttubbeada is a Potentially Unwanted Program that markets itself as a means of blocking advertising content on YouTube and similar streaming movie sites. In ironic contrast to the implications of its name, Blockuttubbeada's features are focused on delivering more advertisements to your Web browser, which usually are injected into arbitrary Web pages automatically. Since there aren't any benefits to installing Blockuttubbeada, which is strongly associated with various security hazards, malware researchers would suggest deleting Blockuttubbeada with the proper anti-adware tools in almost any conceivable circumstance.
All the Justifications for Blocking Blockuttubbeada from Getting to Your Browser
Blockuttubbeada is part of a diverse lineup of PUPs that malware researchers estimate are minor updates of each other, with small changes in brand names but few changes in their essential functions. All of these PUPs, including Blockuttubbeada, Ytubeadsremover, TubeItAdBlockAp and BlockUTubeAd, are classified as adware programs that exist primarily to insert new advertisements into your browser. Despite the theme of the above names, this family has not been observed to have any legitimate, beneficial functions, including any features related to ostensibly positive changes to the YouTube interface.
On the other hand, negative characteristics that malware experts have seen from Blockuttubbeada and many of its relatives do happen to include:
- Blockuttubbeada tends to be installed automatically through such methods as fake software updates and free bundles with other programs.
- Blockuttubbeada makes changes to one or more Web browsers that allow Blockuttubbeada to inject advertising links into standard text content. Other formats of advertisements, such as pop-up windows or banners, also may be expected, albeit usually in the minority.
- Blockuttubbeada attempts to update itself automatically. Since Blockuttubbeada may be 'improved' with additional features beyond the scope of this article, automatically-installed updates are security issues.
Blockuttubbeada's family also has a particularly definitive and long-lived history of promoting potentially unsafe advertisement content, including phishing attacks, online scams and fraudulent software updates that could install threats. Even if not all of Blockuttubbeada's advertisements are bound to be toxic, malware researchers recommend avoiding any unneeded contact with Blockuttubbeada's advertisement partners or any entities promoted by Blockuttubbeada.
Sending Another Adware PUP Down the Tube to the Trash Bin
Previously, malware experts have recommended removing similar adware products from your Web browser, due to the double-headed threat of security and performance problems often associated with them. You should show a similar attitude towards Blockuttubbeada – although its removal may require more stringent methods than heading to your Control Panel. However, competent anti-malware and anti-adware tools, particularly ones with proven histories for detecting other members of this family, also should have few issues with deleting Blockuttubbeada.
The possibility of Blockuttubbeada being installed by force is far from completely negligible, but malware researchers most often find Blockuttubbeada and related adware add-ons installed through the mistakes of the PC's original user. Installing software from sites known to distribute adware, installing software from illegal downloading networks and installing 'patches' from sources that aren't legitimate all are easy ways of subjecting yourself to Blockuttubbeada advertisements, and the dangers that come with them.
