Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

DiscouNNtExtensi 7.2 is a Web browser add-on that is officially categorized as a Potentially Unwanted Program, which is a result of its display of questionable advertising content, its unusual format and its overall difficulty of uninstallation. In most cases, malware researchers find few benefits from adware programs, but significant browser performance issues. The DiscouNNtExtensi 7.2 add-on is another case of this general trend, with a history of causing crashes. Deleting DiscouNNtExtensi 7.2 with any adware-removing security software that has your trust should be enough to re-stabilize your browser and remove any advertising settings implemented by this PUP.
The Discounts that Send Your Browser Tumbling over on Itself
Adware developers often are engaged in delivering new brands of browser add-ons on an almost daily basis, but these brands rarely offer any new features or benefits worthy of mention. DiscouNNtExtensi 7.2 is one of the newest adware programs off their presses, but its functions are entirely identical to those of previous adware add-ons that malware researchers have seen throughout the years. Like DigiCoupon, another adware program that was under recent investigation, DiscouNNtExtensi 7.2 only has been seen being installed to Google's Chrome browser, even though other Web browsers have been harried by similar issues from other adware.
DiscouNNtExtensi 7.2 stays with the classic adware functions of injecting advertisements into Web pages that aren't associated with DiscouNNtExtensi 7.2. These advertisements may include price comparisons between multiple products, referrals to alternative online retailers, coupons and sponsored search results, as some of the most notable examples. Installations of DiscouNNtExtensi 7.2 also have an extra trait that malware researchers found interesting: their tendency to crash the Chrome browser randomly, which may cause even greater performance problems than most adware programs are notorious for creating.
Cutting DiscouNNtExtensi 7.2's Extended Stay on Your Browser Short
DiscouNNtExtensi 7.2 advertisements ignore normal advertisement-blocking features and can't be deactivated via any controls that DiscouNNtExtensi 7.2 offers you. The safest and surest way of removing this advertising content is to remove DiscouNNtExtensi 7.2, itself, which malware researchers endorse as a means of keeping your browser both safe and in a condition for good performance. DiscouNNtExtensi 7.2 does have a history of concealing some of its components and trying to reinstall itself; however, an up-to-date anti-malware program with any competency should be able to remove DiscouNNtExtensi 7.2 without any real problems.
DiscouNNtExtensi 7.2 was noted to be active in the wild as of January 2014. Outdated PC security products may have some minor problems detecting or deleting DiscouNNtExtensi 7.2 entirely. In addition to pointing at the importance of keeping your software updated, malware researchers also might recommend that you keep your PC clear of common sources of adware that are most likely to install DiscouNNtExtensi 7.2, such as websites that bundle toolbars and other PUPs with their downloads.
