Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

LvMaintanence is a Potentially Unwanted Program that may be associated with the activities of adware, including repeated requests to install LvMaintanence, modified browser settings, browser hijacks, pop-ups and related Web-browsing problems. If you see LvMaintanence-related pop-ups or have issues with removing LvMaintanence from your PC, both of which are typical occurrences for this PUP, malware experts recommend using anti-malware products to survey your PC and remove all related threats. In most cases, LvMaintanence may not be installed alone, but will be just one component of adware and other add-ons that have no benefits for your Web browser.
The PUP that Keeps Coming Back to Your Hard Drive
Much like a pest that refuses to leave, no matter what you do to reject it, LvMaintanence is an unwanted program that usually is found along with repeated pop-up installation requests. Installing LvMaintanence to seek a refuge from these pop-ups will quickly lead to your discovering that LvMaintanence is just as difficult to remove, and will be reinstalled immediately if you try to use normal software deletion methods (such as the Control Panel). However, LvMaintanence tends to be just one of several PC threats on your computer.
In past LvMaintanence incidents examined by malware researchers, they found that LvMaintanence often was installed (or reinstalled, as necessary) by ContentExplorer or programs related to it. ContentExplorer, not to be confused with the unrelated Content Explorer program, is adware that injects additional advertising content into your Web browser. Symptoms often include delayed site loading times while advertisements are loaded instead, along with occasional problems loading various websites entirely.
Advertisements associated with LvMaintanence issues may show signs of illicit exploitation for attacking the audience's PCs. Malware researchers particularly caution against installing any Flash updates from LvMaintanence-related pop-ups, which are popular threat-distribution methods.
Maintaining a Solid Line of Defense Against LvMaintanence Invasions
Because, like any bug, LvMaintanence is far more difficult to squash once it's invaded your 'home,' malware researchers recommend using strong security steps to stop LvMaintanence, ContentExplorer and related PUPs ever from being installed. These programs have been known to be bundled with unrelated software, such as free games, although most anti-malware and anti-adware suites should be able to detect these types of software bundles, and their related utilities. ContentExplorer also can be found at its website, which, obviously, should be avoided, as long as you have an interest in maintaining your browser advertisement-free.
LvMaintanence is just one example of an unwanted program that doesn't benefit your browser or the rest of your computer, but is needlessly difficult to uninstall. Although these programs usually are surrounded by inaccurate marketing practices that present them in a positive light, avoiding most PUPs will keep your PC safe while not giving up any features worth mentioning. Regardless of any other factors, installing software recommended by random pop-ups never is in your best interest.
