If you notice an extension called 'NavSmart' in your browsers, you may be in trouble. This add-on serves as a browser hijacker that also may exhibit typical adware traits. The main function of NavSmart is to change the configuration of your Web clients in a way that will benefit its developers. Shortly after NavSmart reaches your system, you may notice a variety of changes in Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. This browser hijacker will not ask you explicitly for any of them. The dubious add-on may delete your old homepage and replace it with Navsmart.info. This page may contain hundreds of links that will take you to sponsored pages. To evoke trust, NavSmart.info has included safe links in the first few rows. You may notice buttons for fast access to some of the most visited places on the Internet, including Google, Facebook, Wikipedia and Twitter. As you scroll down, however, you may see various links leading to sites that host online games. These platforms may suggest you install another ad-oriented extension that may overwhelm your Web clients with ads. The combination of a few different adware plugins may make the browsers unusable. It is not always easy to distinguish safe links on Navsmart.info from the potentially unsafe ones, so you should ignore all of them. This suspicious platform also contains a search field on the top. Although the window says that it offers a custom Google search, you should not rely on it unless you are prepared to encounter large amounts of manipulated results. The developers of Navsmart.info may use this tactic as another way to make you visit their partners. The generated traffic pays off for them in the form of referral commissions. The unwanted add-on related to this site also may inject annoying commercial materials like pop-ups and banners. Once the browser hijacker takes control of the Internet engines, you may experience constant redirections to Navsmart.info. The parasite may have sneaked into your system as a suggested bonus application of some freeware. It is advisable to delete this potentially harmful extension with a dedicated security solution.
