PCBooster

Posted: October 6, 2015

PCBooster is a system optimization tool offered by Energizer Softech Pvt LTD, which appears to be a company that is closely linked to PCVark Software, a software developer that is behind a large number of Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs) that claim to be system optimizers. The usefulness of the PCBooster is questionable mainly because this program will not execute any system optimization actions unless you pay for the full version. The official website of PCBooster only offers the download of a trial version that is meant to work as a system scanner – after it generates a report with the recommended actions, it may prompt the user to pay for the full license, which will allow them to fix all pending issues.

It is not uncommon for system optimizers like this one to make their scan reports seem more serious than they are – a simple trick that aims to convince users that it is worth it pay for the full product. The situation with PCBooster is not different, and this software may claim that minor issues are much more severe, therefore making it more likely that the user will end up spending money on the full version of PCBooster.

If you have installed the trial of PCBooster, then we assure you that you should take its report with a grain of salt. Although the full version of the PCBooster may be able to apply some PC optimization fixes, the difference from them is unlikely to be noticeable, and this product is not worth the money certainly, especially when you take into account the fact that it uses dubious tricks to get more users to buy it. The advice is to uninstall PCBooster either manually or with the use of an up-to-date PC security tool.
