Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

PUP.Rocketfuel is one of many browser hijackers invested in redirecting your browser to unwanted websites, although PUP.Rocketfuel disguises itself as a humble add-on that is marketed as a benign product. As a member of the Conduit family, PUP.Rocketfuel will not redirect you to compromised sites deliberately, but sites associated with Conduit add-ons aren't known for their strict security or relevant search results, and malware experts recommend avoiding contact with them. Since many PC users have issues with removing PUP.Rocketfuel easily, you shouldn't hesitate in using appropriate anti-malware and anti-adware tools to uninstall PUP.Rocketfuel and any associated, equally unwanted programs from your computer.
PUP.Rocketfuel: the Fuel for a Non-Consensual Trip
PUP.Rocketfuel's name might imply that PUP.Rocketfuel can provide easy ways to get to your online destinations faster than usual, but, as a browser hijacker, PUP.Rocketfuel is more of a kidnapper than a browser upgrade. A confirmed member of the Conduit family of browser hijackers, PUP.Rocketfuel is noted for modifying your search settings to redirect you to Conduit.com and affiliated websites. These websites haven't been classified as overtly harmful or corrupted in nature but still may be inadvertent security threats to your computer.
Malware researchers have had more than a little time to delve into the Conduit family of search hijackers at length, and PUP.Rocketfuel seems to be a fairly standard example of that family. PUP.Rocketfuel will be installed automatically, usually through an installation-bundling tool that includes other 'free' software. Deleting PUP.Rocketfuel, either through your browser's add-on manager or through the Windows Control Panel, may prove to be unnecessarily challenging, as is the case with most Conduit software. Some of the other members of this long-lived and varied family include the ConnectSo Toolbar, the SuperFast PC Toolbar, the Nana10 Toolbar, the SparkleBox Toolbar, the Oscar Delta Toolbar and the Swirlz Toolbar.
Fueling Your Escape from PUP.Rocketfuel's Search Redirects
Although improper installations of PUP.Rocketfuel add-ons have been known to cause other issues, such as browser redirects to blank Web pages, PUP.Rocketfuel isn't categorized as a threat and doesn't seem to be capable of launching explicit attacks against your computer. However, as with all Potentially Unwanted Programs, malware researchers recommend removing PUP.Rocketfuel for the sake of your computer's long term safety. Being unable to control your own search engine, or other aspects of your browser's behavior, makes for a variety of security issues that easily could expose you to other PC threats, either intentionally or by accident.
To be certain of removing PUP.Rocketfuel and all setting changes caused by PUP.Rocketfuel, using PC security software with good capabilities against unwanted software is suggested. PUP.Rocketfuel is not a high-level threat, and shouldn't require any additional steps beyond scanning your computer to detect and delete PUP.Rocketfuel. If you experience other symptoms or problems with deleting PUP.Rocketfuel, your PC may be compromised by other threatening or unwanted software, which may require additional steps to be taken – assuming that you don't want your PC to become a 'Conduit' to ill-minded persons.
