Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

Snappy Image is adware particularly known for modifying the content of unrelated pages to force them to display links to advertising affiliates. Even though its techniques are not quite as visually obtrusive as those of many other adware-based add-ons, Snappy Image does pose a threat to the safety of your Web-surfing experience and holds no benefits for anyone who allows Snappy Image to stay installed. As with similar cases of other adware, malware researchers find it safest to uninstall Snappy Image through the use of security tools designed to target advertising programs and other Potentially Unwanted Programs that may be threatening to keep on your computer.
The Advertising Images that are There in a Snap
As one might assume from its name, Snappy Image is adware that specializes in delivering advertisements through online images. However, rather than loading its own images through pop-ups or other methods, Snappy Image automatically modifies Web pages as they're loaded to convert their native images into links to its advertisements. This form of advertising, while it minimizes the disruption to the format of visited websites, still may interfere with other, native links, and, ultimately, has no real benefits for your browser. Since online advertisements from networks with poor reputations may be sources of threat installation vehicles, phishing attacks and other PC threats, malware experts tend to discourage the unnecessary use of adware products like Snappy Image, even when they have good reputations.
However, Snappy Image is not one of the few advertising applications that have the advantage of a good business history. Without any clear links to its affiliated company or standard marketing platform, Snappy Image primarily is distributed through being bundled with other applications. Recently, bundled installers for Snappy Image add-ons were spotted with generic media players, with no warning of the additional software occurring during the installation process. Finally, even PC users who attempted to remove Snappy Image immediately have reported problems with its deletion, which is sadly a typical characteristic for adware like Snappy Image, that realizes that its presence is less than beneficial
Getting Your Web Images out of Snappy Image's Grasp
Without any further interaction, Snappy Image's only symptom is the addition of generic 'zoom' icons to most website imagery. However, Snappy Image's advertisement modifications are compatible with all major Windows browsers. Since Snappy Image, by default, includes components that are independent of individual browsers, trying to change your browser – a common anti-adware solution attempted by casual PC users – will not affect Snappy Image or its advertisements.
As always, attacking the underlying cause of the problem is safer than trying to suppress the symptoms of it, and you should consider leveraging anti-adware products whenever you need to remove Snappy Image.
