Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

Culled from the same mold as other scamware programs like XP Protection 2013 and Win 7 Protection 2013, Vista Protection 2013 is a rogue anti-malware scanner that intentionally generates fake information about infections and attacks against your computer. This information is meant to encourage you to purchase Vista Protection 2013's full version to remove any detected threats, but Vista Protection 2013 can't detect or delete real malware of any type. Given Vista Protection 2013's nature as a digital swindler, SpywareRemove.com malware experts heavily encourage deleting Vista Protection 2013 immediately – a solution that may be somewhat hampered by the program-blocking and browser-hijacking functions that Vista Protection 2013 also throws your way.
Vista Protection 2013: From Protection to Aggression with Nary a Blink Between the Two
Vista Protection 2013 is designed to look like an anti-malware program but, like other residents of the FakeRean family of scamware, can't find real PC threats or protect your computer from them in any way at all. Vista Protection 2013's sophisticated disguise includes fake system scans that identify PC threats by technical names, as well as a range of different pop-up warnings. However, the worst of Vista Protection 2013's attacks actually don't have much to do with its fake anti-malware features, as determined by SpywareRemove.com malware experts:
- Vista Protection 2013 will monitor your attempts to use other programs and deny programs that Vista Protection 2013 doesn't want you to access. Ostensibly, Vista Protection 2013 will claim that this is done for the sake of protecting your PC, or because the program in question has been damaged.
- Some programs even may be deleted by Vista Protection 2013, which appears to prefer targeting baseline Windows security programs like the firewall and update management service with this attack.
- Last of all, SpywareRemove.com malware experts can confirm that even your Web-browsing isn't safe from Vista Protection 2013, which will try to block you from accessing various sites and will redirect your browser to fake error pages.
Casting Off a Fraud to Defend Your PC with More Than Fake Information
As both a sham of a security program and a legitimate threat to your basic computer usage, Vista Protection 2013 only is capable of harming your PC in all the ways noted earlier, and SpywareRemove.com malware researchers can't think of any response to Vista Protection 2013 preferable to disabling and deleting Vista Protection 2013 as soon as possible. Similar cautionary warnings also apply to Vista Protection 2013's relatives within the FakeRean family, which may be branded somewhat differently from Vista Protection 2013 (such as using the names of different versions of Windows), but are otherwise identical. Some analyzed samples of Vista Protection 2013's relatives, both old and new, include Antivirus 2008 Pro, Antivirus XP 2008, Windows Antivirus 2008, Vista Antivirus 2008, PC Clean Pro, Antivirus Pro 2009, Rogue.Vista Antivirus 2008, AntiSpy Safeguard, ThinkPoint, Spyware Protection 2010, Internet Antivirus 2011, Palladium Pro, XP Anti-Virus 2011, CleanThis, XP Security 2012, XP Home Security 2012 and AntiVirus PRO 2015.
To delete Vista Protection 2013 with appropriate anti-malware tools, you usually will need to disable Vista Protection 2013 and its program-blocking routine. You can do this by either booting in Safe Mode (which is available on most popular operating systems) or, if necessary, booting from a flash drive.
