Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

One of a number of fake anti-virus products, Vista Protection 2014 uses a combination of anti-security functions and fraudulent AV features to encourage its premium registration. Since Vista Protection 2014 has no actual anti-virus features and even may pose a threat to your computer, malware experts strongly recommend removing Vista Protection 2014, rather than buying Vista Protection 2014. Legitimate anti-malware tools are favored for this purpose, though you may need to take procedures especially for disabling threats on your system before you have unblocked access to all appropriate security programs.
The AV Program that Protects Your PC from Itself
Fake security programs are frequently remarked upon for their numerous changes in brand names, which malware experts personally have observed undergo evolutions over time, as with Multi-Rogue 2012, Multi-rogue 2013, and now, multi-rogue 2014. Members of this family, including, Vista Protection 2014, promote themselves as brand-new anti-virus products, but include functions that are antithetical to your PC's safety – such as terminating the processes of important security programs.
Some of the additional attacks one can anticipate from Vista Protection 2014 may extend to:
- Redirecting your Web browser away from other websites, particularly domains linked to PC security companies. In the process of these browser hijacks, Vista Protection 2014 also may display fake warning pages that promote its software (or other threats).
- Displaying ranges of fake pop-up warnings, imitations of anti-virus scans and other fraudulent security functions.
- Requesting that you transfer money or private financial information for its registration process, supposedly to help 'protect' your PC from the fake threats Vista Protection 2014 detects.
- There also may be miscellaneous modifications to your security settings, including disabling your default Windows firewall. These changes may enable the attacks of secondary PC threats.
Protecting Your PC from Vista Protection 2014
Vista Protection 2014 infections harbor the same security risks as other members of FakeRean, a well-known group of rogue anti-malware programs. With its lack of real security features and deliberate attacks against your PC's security, Vista Protection 2014 clearly never should be purchased, and malware analysts explicitly suggest deleting Vista Protection 2014 with the same anti-malware utilities you'd use against all threats. Since Vista Protection 2014 has a high chance of blocking any real security programs, you may need to take actions for disabling Vista Protection 2014 before disinfecting your computer.
Distribution methods for Vista Protection 2014's family may utilize browser-based attacks that capitalize off of old vulnerabilities (or unpatched ones) to install scamware. While malware experts encourage removing Vista Protection 2014, even more so, they recommend that you take proper steps to protect your computer from attacks that could install Vista Protection 2014 or even worse threats automatically. Disabling scripts and patching vulnerable software are two particularly helpful steps in this regard and may also protect against other members of Multi-Rogue 2014 such as Antivirus 2008 Pro, Antivirus XP 2008, Windows Antivirus 2008, Vista Antivirus 2008, PC Clean Pro, Antivirus Pro 2009, Rogue.Vista Antivirus 2008, AntiSpy Safeguard, ThinkPoint, Spyware Protection 2010, Internet Antivirus 2011, Palladium Pro, XP Anti-Virus 2011, CleanThis, XP Security 2012, XP Home Security 2012 and AntiVirus PRO 2015.
