AntiVirusAndSpyware

Posted: May 7, 2011

AntiVirusAndSpyware is just a small part of a huge rogue anti-virus program gang that uses fake errors to make you believe that your PC has an incredibly high number of infections. Although AntiVirusAndSpyware was first seen in 2007, updates to AntiVirusAndSpyware throughout the years have been common, and it remains a credible threat to any Windows computer. Don't buckle under AntiVirusAndSpyware's browser hijacks, applications crashes and other attacks, and remove AntiVirusAndSpyware by using good anti-malware software.

One Part of the Endless 'Soft' Rogue Threat Domino Chain

AntiVirusAndSpyware is a 'product' of the criminal company calling itself Your-Soft, along with many other rogue programs like TrojanGuarderGold, Antivirus Protection Trial, AntivirusAndTrojan, Antivirus .NET and Antivirus Monitor. Although they may have different names and appearances, these rogue threats all utilize the same malicious functions and infect your PC in the same ways.

Most infections by AntiVirusAndSpyware are caused by web browser applications visiting dangerous websites related to Your-Soft. Some known hostile websites include Unavsoft.net, Softnate.com, Gahsoft.com and Softbard.net. These websites may tell you that your computer is infected and that downloading AntiVirusAndSpyware will fix these infections, but the warnings are fake and should be ignored.

You may experience some or all of the following symptoms if you're infected with AntiVirusAndSpyware:

  • AntiVirusAndSpyware may hijack your web browser to redirect you to one of the above websites. This may be done with the use of fake warnings that indicate that a safe website is malicious. Hijack attacks may also redirect you from search engine results or change your homepage.
  • AntiVirusAndSpyware may stop applications from running. These interferences may be silent, or AntiVirusAndSpyware may use fake errors like this one:
    Security Alert
    Virus Alert!
Application can't be started! The file [executable file] is damaged. Do you want to activate your anti-virus software now?
  • AntiVirusAndSpyware will meddle with your Registry so that AntiVirusAndSpyware always runs whenever Windows launches. This uses up system resources and allows AntiVirusAndSpyware to make its other attacks all the time, even if you don't see it active on screen.

Saving Your PC from AntiVirusAndSpyware

Any computer that runs Windows versions from 95 all the way up to 2K, Me and Server 2003 is at risk of being infected by AntiVirusAndSpyware. To protect yourself against potential infection, you can stop AntiVirusAndSpyware infection scripts by disabling JavaScript and Flash plugins for untrusted sources.

If you've purchased AntiVirusAndSpyware before realizing that it's a scam, you should talk to your credit card company about having the charges revoked. AntiVirusAndSpyware should be removed as soon as possible, but removing AntiVirusAndSpyware by manually deleting the files is inadvisable except as a final resort.

In preference, you should delete AntiVirusAndSpyware by downloading, installing and updating suitable anti-malware programs or using any pre-installed anti-malware scanners that you have on your PC. If you run your scans in Safe Mode, which can be accessed by hitting F8 during startup, then the chances of AntiVirusAndSpyware getting away scot-free are minimal.
