CD-ROM Trojan Description
CD-ROM Trojan is a malicious application that allows the attacker to control CD-ROM drive of the infected PC. It is quite simple and provides only few functions. The server part of CD-ROM Trojan starts automatically on every computer startup and remains loaded into memory. It is able to open or close CD-ROM tray and show a simple text message. Some rare versions of this spyware exist, which can perform other annoying actions and take screenshots of user activity. Although CD-ROM Trojan is quite harmful, it is recommended to completely remove it from the computer, prohibiting unauthorized remote access to your PC.

Backup Reminder: Always be sure to back up your PC before making any changes.To remove CD-ROM Trojan, you must first stop any CD-ROM Trojan processes that are running in your computer's memory. To stop all CD-ROM Trojan processes, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Windows Task Manager. Click on the "Processes" tab, search for CD-ROM Trojan, then right-click it and select "End Process" key.
To delete CD-ROM Trojan registry keys, open the Windows Registry Editor by clicking on the Windows "Start" button and selecting "Run." Type "regedit" into the box and click "OK." Once the Registry Editor is open, search for the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\CD-ROM Trojan." Right-click this registry key and select "Delete."
Finally, to completely get rid of CD-ROM Trojan, you must manually remove other CD-ROM Trojan files. These CD-ROM Trojan files can be in the form of EXE, DLL, LSP, TOOLBAR, BROWSER HIJACK, and/or BROWSER PLUGIN. For example, CD-ROM Trojan might create a file like
%PROGRAM_FILES%\CD-ROM Trojan\CD-ROM Trojan.exe. Locate and remove these files.
