Jany 2000 Description
Worm Jany 2000 spreads in IRC networks and infects Microsoft Word text documents. It odifies mIRC and pIRCh chat clients settings and uses them to distribute itself in IRC channels. The worm places some of its files on a hard disk and several times per year shows simple messages.

Jany 2000 Manual Removal Instructions
Backup Reminder: Always be sure to back up your PC before making any changes.To remove Jany 2000, you must first stop any Jany 2000 processes that are running in your computer's memory. To stop all Jany 2000 processes, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Windows Task Manager. Click on the "Processes" tab, search for Jany 2000, then right-click it and select "End Process" key.
To delete Jany 2000 registry keys, open the Windows Registry Editor by clicking on the Windows "Start" button and selecting "Run." Type "regedit" into the box and click "OK." Once the Registry Editor is open, search for the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Jany 2000." Right-click this registry key and select "Delete."
Finally, to completely get rid of Jany 2000, you must manually remove other Jany 2000 files. These Jany 2000 files can be in the form of EXE, DLL, LSP, TOOLBAR, BROWSER HIJACK, and/or BROWSER PLUGIN. For example, Jany 2000 might create a file like
%PROGRAM_FILES%\Jany 2000\Jany 2000.exe. Locate and remove these files.
