VBS/Freelink Description
VBS/Freelink is an encrypted worm that spreads via email and IRC channels. Once it is executed, the worm script will create a new script file "RUNDLL.VBS" in the Windows system folder and modify the system registry to execute this script upon every Windows start-up. Once VBS/Freelink is launched, it will use MS Outlook to automatically send an email with an attachment of itself.

VBS/Freelink Manual Removal Instructions
Backup Reminder: Always be sure to back up your PC before making any changes.To remove VBS/Freelink, you must first stop any VBS/Freelink processes that are running in your computer's memory. To stop all VBS/Freelink processes, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Windows Task Manager. Click on the "Processes" tab, search for VBS/Freelink, then right-click it and select "End Process" key.
To delete VBS/Freelink registry keys, open the Windows Registry Editor by clicking on the Windows "Start" button and selecting "Run." Type "regedit" into the box and click "OK." Once the Registry Editor is open, search for the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\VBS/Freelink." Right-click this registry key and select "Delete."
Finally, to completely get rid of VBS/Freelink, you must manually remove other VBS/Freelink files. These VBS/Freelink files can be in the form of EXE, DLL, LSP, TOOLBAR, BROWSER HIJACK, and/or BROWSER PLUGIN. For example, VBS/Freelink might create a file like
%PROGRAM_FILES%\VBS/Freelink\VBS/Freelink.exe. Locate and remove these files.
