'Adwares-support.net' Pop-Ups

Posted: September 23, 2015

Adwares-support.net is a malicious webpage that tries to scam its visitors. It doesn't contain any harmful software but displays misleading pop-ups about the security state of the PC. According to the notifications, the user's machine is compromised by spyware. The messages claim that the person is about to face very serious problems. Allegedly, some distant hackers may be able to steal banking information, private files and login credentials. You should know that none of the mentioned threats is present. In fact, there is no site that can check your hard drives for malware – not unless you download some tool. As a solution to the nonexistent problem, the adwares-support.net pop-ups ask you to call 800-303-3005 for assistance. You should not do it because this is how the fraud occurs. Instead of the promised "Apple Tech Support", you will get in touch with some cunning criminals. They will encourage you to pay them a significant sum of money to clean your PC, although it is most likely not infected with spyware. The requested amount varies but usually reaches $200. Since you will get absolutely nothing for your cash, you should not consider paying them. What is more, the culprits may demand remote access to your PC, which they may use to infect you with real cyber threats. If your browser loads adwares-support.net automatically, then it is undoubtedly under the influence of some browser hijacker. It probably entered alongside some freeware. This browser hijacker attaches as an add-on to the web clients and ruins their functionality with unapproved redirections. To delete it, you need to scan your PC with reputable security software.
