Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

CheapNcheap is an adware program that installs itself as an extension to your Chrome Web browser. In addition to its displaying functions centered around loading unwanted advertisements, cheapNcheap also may be installed by exploits that tend to distribute additional adware, and which may reinstall cheapNcheap if you try to remove cheapNcheap. You can resolve these multiple threat scenarios by using general anti-adware, anti-malware and other system-scanning products to conduct in-depth inspections of the compromised PC.
A Steep Price for Cheap Web Browsing
When software claiming to provide savings for its users suddenly appears on their PCs, the practical results may amount to nothing more than extra advertisements, and this trend continues to exemplify itself in cheapNcheap. This adware product may circulate through bundles and other non-consensual methods, with its authors seemingly taken a 'shotgun pellet' philosophy to installation. Most reports of cheapNcheap installations also may occur alongside the installation of other, near-identical adware, which may affect more than one brand of Web browser.
The most common adware seen with cheapNcheap is BoomCheap Ads, an adware add-on for Firefox. Unlike Boomcheap, cheapNcheap is designed as a Chrome extension, which may indicate that its authors are using similar, but distinct software to achieve maximum browser compatibility for their installs. The payloads of these programs may include modifications to Web pages when they load, which may be used to insert 'sponsored' search results, banner advertisements, text advertisement links and other advertisements.
While dealing with a browser modified by cheapNcheap, malware researchers would suggest that you avoid common advertising-circulated threats that may harm your PC. Such threats may range from hotline tactics that initiate contact with con artists to attempts to download fake software patches that install Trojans. Most good anti-malware products should be able to detect the most common of these attacks, but cheapNcheap's advertisements may circumvent standard advertisement blockers and other, minor security measures.
The Cheapest Way to get cheapNcheap Gone
While malware experts have failed to pin down the latest distribution strategies used by cheapNcheap, all indications support the use of automatic installers, such as free software bundles or even payloads delivered by Trojans. Normal uninstall procedures, while useful for any real browser add-on, may fail to remove all components of cheapNcheap's current installations, which allows this extension's reinstallation automatically. You may find an effective resolution to cheapNcheap reinstalling itself through anti-adware software, but, in some cases, using anti-malware utilities also may be required.
As a throwaway Chrome extension that may use uncreative techniques to generate revenue at the expense of those who use it, cheapNcheap is less of a product than cheapNcheap is a Potentially Unwanted Program. Commonly found havens for PUPs may include both illicit download sources and legal, but poorly-policed ones, such as free software sites that bundle third-party products indiscriminately. Scanning files from these locations can let you detect a possible installer for cheapNcheap without your needing to go through the difficulties of removing cheapNcheap afterward.
