DealTotal is adware that inserts additional advertising materials in your web clients. It is easy to detect the presence of the suspicious add-on. All banners, pop-ups and videos, created by it, are labeled as "Ads by DealTotal". They are not like the regular marketing content you face on the websites. Instead, the ads by DealTotal tend to be very aggressive and persistent. They appear in most domains and often hinder the functionality of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. The purpose of the ads is to boost the traffic towards third-party pages. For this service, the administrators of the sponsored domains pay some referral commissions to the developers of the adware. As they generate revenues, the unsuspecting user may be redirected to some very suspicious sites. Some of them may offer you some Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs) or even potentially harmful applications. You may find the displayed deals and offers quite appealing because they are based on your browsing history. DealTotal frequently comes uninvited, bundled with third-party freeware. The removal process of the adware may cause you some difficulties. To perform the task properly, you should use advanced security software.
