Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

FastoPlayer is an adware extension for Chrome that may be installed along with the FastoPlayer media player or as a separate application. Web pages modified by FastoPlayer during loading time may display additional advertisements, and this adware also may make other changes to your browser's settings automatically. There are no user-beneficial features in FastoPlayer, and deleting FastoPlayer with an anti-adware tool should be the standard reaction of any PC owner who sees the above symptoms.
Getting Your Browser Played by Adware
Although the media player product promoted at FastoPlayer.com isn't accurately classifiable as being a threat, some PC security companies have rated installation files related to this brand as being potentially threatening. Even malware researchers saw suspicious behavior from this brand related to unusual distribution methods for FastoPlayer, an adware product seemingly designed for generating advertisement revenue from the installations of the related media player. PC users that install FastoPlayer unintentionally may find themselves subject to multiple, invasive Web-browsing modifications, albeit only for the Chrome browser.
Significant symptoms of FastoPlayer's presence may include:
- Search engine hijackings, or modifications that redirect your Chrome Web searches to unwanted sites. Malware experts saw FastoPlayer advertisements using this function to promote some third-party sites, such as Tlbsearch.com.
- FastoPlayer also may inject advertising content into other Web pages while they load. Advertisements may include graphical elements like banners, as well as text content hosting hyperlinks to third-party sites. In most cases, these advertisements should identify FastoPlayer as their carrier.
As of August 2015, some FastoPlayer installers have been seen being distributed automatically. Most adware installers bundle themselves with other applications downloaded from sources such as freeware sites, although not all of them may identify their third-party products or be visibly affiliated with the FastoPlayer brand.
How to Get Away from a Media Player's Advertisements Fast
FastoPlayer may be labeled as being 'riskware' or a variant of the Kazy adware, although most PC security programs may not identify FastoPlayer as threatening. Even though FastoPlayer doesn't show any of the characteristics of being a Trojan or other, threatening software, FastoPlayer may harm your PC through loading corrupted advertisements, redirecting you to harmful sites or installing its updates automatically, unintentionally. For now, malware researchers see no reasons to recommend any reaction to FastoPlayer other than deleting it. However, you always should remove FastoPlayer with anti-adware products capable of reversing all associated Registry and browser changes during the process.
Other than a poor reputation among software ranking websites, FastoPlayer has limited community information available about its features. While FastoPlayer installers may include software with real, media-playing or conversion benefits, most dependable file players and converters have no need to hijack your Web browser. In almost all cases, PC owners benefit most from using software that conducts a bare minimum of system changes not directly related to reputable revenue models or features of obvious benefit to their users. To date, malware experts have failed to find instances of FastoPlayer modifying browsers other than Chrome.
