Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

Ffreeyouu is a browser add-on that may modify your Web pages by serving additional advertisements. Although non-consensual advertising is an insufficient reason for classifying Ffreeyou as a threat, its content may be a theoretical security risk, along with causing the usual performance and quality of life problems. PC users without exceptional reasons for keeping this software installed should remove Ffreeyou with dedicated anti-adware products that can restore their Web browsers to their original condition.
Ffreeyouu: Taking Your Browser's Freedom in Exchange for Advertisement Traffic
Ffreeyouu is adware with similarities to past applications malware researchers see specializing in the Chrome browser, although neither Ffreeyouu nor its relatives distribute themselves in Chrome's official Web store. Standard installations for Ffreeyouu tend to use bundle platforms with third party freeware, such as video codecs, movie players and pirated software. Evidence currently points to most installers failing to request permission prior to installing Ffreeyouu, which may modify your default browser automatically.
Once past its introduction to your system, Ffreeyouu injects affiliated advertisement content into Chrome and other browsers while you're surfing the Web. Its content may include both graphical elements, such as product comparisons, as well as text hyperlinks. Most, but not necessarily all advertisements delivered through Ffreeyouu also may include tags identifying the Ffreeyouu software as the delivery mechanism, which is the usual means by which PC owners identify Ffreeyouu.
Issues malware experts have encountered with Ffreeyouu may include:
- Ffreeyouu may produce exacerbated Web page loading times from adding extraneous content to your browser.
- In some cases, the placement of content from Ffreeyouu advertisements may block default advertising content or other content associated with a Web page. This issue may hinder accessibility and legibility, as well as deprive other advertisement networks of their revenue.
- Ffreeyouu may not deliver safe advertisement content to your browser. Some advertisements may include phishing attacks disguised as security warnings, along with other threats actively trying to harm your PC.
Ffreeyouu advertising, like adware content from most sources, may be delivered without any provisions for disabling Ffreeyouu or modifying how Ffreeyouu loads into your browser.
Freeing Your Browser from Ffreeyouu Advertisements
Ffreeyouu is a Potentially Unwanted Program, or a program that is more likely to provide undesirable features than beneficial ones. Some rare circumstances may cause you to wish to keep a PUP on your computer. However, you should consider any application categorized as a PUP that doesn't justify its presence as a candidate for immediate uninstalling. Besides the obvious benefits of viewing fewer advertisements while browsing the Web, removing Ffreeyouu also will keep your browser safe from attacks malware researchers often see from such applications.
Malware experts have seen samples of Ffreeyouu advertisements circulating since June 2015. Despite its newness to the adware scene, Ffreeyouu has shown no remarkable traits to separate Ffreeyouu from past adware products. Your standard and preferably updated anti-adware software should be able to identify and delete Ffreeyouu from your browser with no long term issues.
