Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

GreatSave4u is an adware application that may make settings changes to your browser for loading extra advertising content. GreatSave4u isn't a threat, but GreatSave4u does exaggerate the benefits of its advertisements with respect to their impact on your online shopping experience, and malware experts classify GreatSave4u as an unnecessary performance burden for your browser. Deleting GreatSave4u by normal methods may cause an incomplete deletion that lets GreatSave4u reinstall itself, and the use of anti-malware programs for the process will prevent you from needing to relive the ordeal.
The Great Savings that aren't So Great When You Have Them
GreatSave4u is a classic demonstration of semi-fraudulent software that doesn't attack your PC, but makes a habit of using misleading marketing and questionable functions to let GreatSave4u profit off of your inconvenience. As a Potentially Unwanted Program, GreatSave4u doesn't have any meaningful features to help your PC, although its marketing claims that GreatSave4u will provide timely shopping bargains that are of theoretical benefit to you. Advertisements aren't displayed as pop-ups, but, instead, use the injected product comparisons and other shopping-related links that malware researchers have come to associate with this subtype of adware.
GreatSave4u is a relatively recent adware program, although very similar add-ons have existed for years. Malware experts have verified that GreatSave4u is designed for Chrome, at a minimum, although other browsers also might be affected. As per the norm for these types of adware programs, GreatSave4u will not allow you to disable its advertisements. These advertisements may:
- Slow or destabilize your Web browser by forcing it to load additional content.
- Expose you to potential attacks through the advertising content, such as fake product offers that may promote rogue security programs.
- Block you from using all aspects of a Web page's interface or content (since the site wasn't designed with GreatSave4u's advertisements in mind).
The Efficient Way to Save Your Browser from a Bombardment of GreatSave4u Advertisements
GreatSave4u advertising isn't illegal, but its legality doesn't necessarily mean that GreatSave4u is good for your computer or in a non-regulated manner. Since malware researchers have confirmed cases of GreatSave4u trying to hinder its own deletion, strong anti-malware programs should be considered first and foremost for removing GreatSave4u. Advertisements also should be removed from your browser, assuming that you've used appropriately reputable PC security tools.
GreatSave4u has been found distributing itself through software bundles with other programs, potentially including file download managers from general software sites. With GreatSave4u able to install itself without so much as warning you about it, malware experts have more motivation than ever to counsel the use of anti-malware scans on any installation file that you don't trust without reservations.
