‘Microsoft-windows.support’ Pop-Ups

Posted: August 6, 2015

Although if you judge by its name you may assume microsoft-windows.support is related to the creators of Windows, it is not associated with them in any way. This platform is fraudulent and tries to scam every person who finds himself there. The name is intentionally chosen to evoke trust, which should facilitate the scam. Microsoft-windows.support tries to trick its visitors by offering them fake technical support. Allegedly, if you dial 1-855-263-2838, you will get in touch with qualified specialists who can resolve any computer problem you have. In fact, the people that are about to answer your call are nothing more than crooks who want payment for nothing in return. Microsoft-windows.support states that their company, which is allegedly called GoToAssist, is the market leader in the remote support business. In reality, GoToAssist is not a firm – it is the name of a cloud-based application that allows remote access. Its name is also stolen by the scammers to confuse the person further. You should also know that microsoft-windows.support hosts some software which is marked as unsafe by the real cyber security specialists. This page promotes it as a tool that should allow the remote connection, but installing it may infect your PC. The people behind the misleading domain demand substantial payment for their non-existent services – the price for one technician per month is $70. They even gladly offer you to hire several technicians at once – for the right price, of course. All in all, you should not waste your time on microsoft-windows.support because the site may only harm you. Some users report that they have been redirected there automatically, which reveals the presence of a browser hijacker. To delete it, you need to scan your system with an efficient anti-malware application.
