Rapid Downloader is a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) that may not benefit you too much. The main function of this application is to show information regarding the current downloads conducted via your Web browser. Rapid Downloader supposedly can optimize this process by displaying a comprehensive list with various options. While you may indeed use this plugin to pause, cancel or prioritize processes, the experts don't recommend keeping it. First of all, all of the popular browsers have an integrated download module that offers the exact same functionality as Rapid Downloader. Second, this PUP has some side effects that may disrupt the normal performance of the Web clients. Since the license of this software is free of charge, it may use Web ads to generate revenue. These new commercial materials may come in large quantities, which may make your surfing sessions less enjoyable easily. No matter if you launch Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer, you may detect additional pop-ups, banners, eye-catching animations or videos that may start by themselves. The mere existence of these new marketing elements may slow down the operating speed of your browsers. It is expected the loading of pages to take slightly more than usual. The commercial materials may consist of vouchers, discounts and all kinds of offers that may be based on your surfing history. You should be careful if you want to check the promoted pages because sometimes the links may take you to unsafe locations. If you didn't download Rapid Downloader intentionally from a platform like the Chrome Web Store, it might have sneaked in towards your PC alongside freeware. If you encounter difficulties while trying to remove the PUP manually, you should use dedicated security software.
