Secure-finder.org

Secure-finder.org is a low-quality search engine that claims to provide users with a convenient way to search the Web anonymously without revealing their likenesses and search queries to 3rd-party advertising and online marketing agencies. However, this is not entirely true, as the only 'change' that Secure-finder.org brings is that it redirects the user's search queries through Plusnetwork.com, a 3rd-party search engine often linked to other domains that may generate a portion of their traffic via browser hijacking applications. Using Secure-finder.org will not expose users to any harmful or disturbing content, and the website appears to be 100% safe. However, it is important to note that the search results it delivers may not always be unbiased, and in some cases, users might see some ads mixed with the search results.

The installation of browser hijackers linked to Secure-finder.org or similar pages may often happen without the user's knowledge. This is because the software of this sort may often use misleading installation instructions or promotional offers to convince users that they are about to install a useful piece of software. However, once the browser hijacker is installed, it will only serve one purpose – to make sure that the Web browser's configuration is modified to set Secure-finder.org as the homepage and new tab page. This change is not threatening, but some users might find it mildly annoying since it forces them to use a 3rd-party search engine that they might not be used to.

The removal of the Secure-finder.org hijacker may be carried out by uninstalling the faulty extension manually, but an anti-malware scanner should perform the task just fine as well. In addition to this, users affected by this hijacker should not forget that they may have to revert their browser's settings manually when the hijacker is removed.
