WinDealist is adware that spreads with the help of freeware. Often, adware is found bundled with freeware. Once installed on a computer system, WinDealist may insert its own toolbar and replace the default start page and search engine or a new tab window with a specific commercial website. WinDealist may display annoying pop-up advertisements, deals, offers and sponsored links in search results of any legitimate search engine. WinDealist may also grab search terms from an Internet user's search requests to deliver and show targeted advertisements. WinDealist may use browser hijacking methods to redirect computer users to a predefined website. WinDealist may also be added into the custom installer on many unprotected download websites, so if the computer user has downloaded a certain free application from a suspicious download website, WinDealist might have also been installed during the setup process of the free program.
