windows 10 auto upgrade act like malwareThere appears to be a substantial amount of computer users who have reported cases of their Windows 7 system automatically updating to Windows 10 without permission or warning. Such a situation is reminiscent of how common malware behaves in the actions of taking over a Windows computer and installing applications without a user's consent. With the actions of Windows automatically upgrading to Windows 10, it begs to ask if Windows 10 is a form of malware?

Microsoft has undoubtedly been aggressive in their approach to expanding the usage rates of Windows 10. Touted as their best and most secure operating system, Windows 10 is being offered as a free update for current Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 users. Though, many of those users who still utilize their Windows 7 or 8 operating systems are being upgraded to Windows 10 without their consent, causing a frenzy of frustrated customers.

At the time of Windows 10's release, computer users were naturally excited to get their hands on the latest innovation from Microsoft. As a kind gesture and attempt to help roll out Windows 10 to as many users as possible, Microsoft automatically alerted people that they could reserve a free copy of Windows 10 at their own discretion. When a pop-up alerting users of the free upgrade possibility, users had the option of starting the update process immediately or closing the window to block any action that it may take in the time-honored offer. The offer worked well, and Microsoft benefited in many ways. However, in what appears to be a new attempt for Microsoft to rid as many older versions of Windows and move towards a Windows 10 utopia, automatic updates are being forced and initialized without user consent, a big issue for computer users who don't want to make the move to Windows 10 just yet.

There is some skepticism surrounding the recent events for countless computer users being automatically upgraded to Windows 10. Many are wondering if Microsoft would really take over someone's computer without warning and install an entirely new operating system without proper permission. Such actions are exactly what malware does, take over one's computer and install unwanted software.

Being one of the largest software firms on the planet, Microsoft has had their fair share of scrutiny for many reasons. However, this is the first time Microsoft has reached a questionable level of automatically loading a new version of Windows on select computers. The fundamental question of whether Microsoft is acting as malware by automatically updating some Windows 7 PCs appears to be a looming and growing concern.

Currently, many experts and Windows users are suggesting that Microsoft should immediately take an about-face move that would allow users decide for themselves if they want to upgrade to Windows 10. Moreover, the longer Microsoft conducts such a practice, more people will wonder if they still have "control" of their system, or will Microsoft continue to be on the verge of being a malware peddler in the eye of many computer users?
