How to Manage Mac Startup Programs
Having important software start automatically when you boot up your computer is certainly helpful, but, unfortunately, there are many apps that want to do this even if you do not really need to use them. Over time, the list of Mac Startup Programs may grow greatly, and this may lead to various issues such as slow loading times or your computer taking up a few minutes to boot up. We advise you to learn how to manage Mac startup programs in order to prevent such issues from bothering you. Here are some tips on how to do it:
Disable Startup Programs
Go to System Preferences -> Users & Groups, and then select the 'Login Items' tab. Make sure to click the 'lock' icon to authorize yourself as an administrator and gain permissions to make changes. Once you are authorized, you can disable the programs that you do not want to run on startup.
Adding New Startup Programs
If there is any software you want to start up automatically when your device boots up, then you can once again to System Preferences -> Users & Groups -> Login Items. Authorize yourself via the 'lock' icon and then click the 'plus' icon to select new apps that you want to add to the startup programs list.
