ITunes is a popular software suite found on every Apple device. However, it also can be installed on Windows compute manually. iTunes works as an all-in-one tool to manage media content including videos, music, podcast and much more. In addition to fetching content from the Apple Store, users can manually add media to iTunes through their hard drive, CDs, or other storage devices. As time goes by, you may end up filling your iTunes library with all sorts of content, a significant portion of which you find outdated or irrelevant. If you think it will be too troublesome to identify and remove unnecessary content manually, then you might be interested in learning how to reset the iTunes library. Below, you will find two easy ways to give your iTunes library a fresh start:

Clear All Library Entries Manually

  1. Open iTunes.
  2. Select the type of library you want to purge from the left menu – music, downloads, videos, etc.
  3. Select one entry from the list, and then press the Command + A keyboard combination to select all entries.
  4. Press the 'Delete' key on your keyboard and accept the confirmation prompt.

Reset the Library Fully

Start by quitting iTunes. After this, launch Finder, and select the Go -> Home options from the top-bar menu, Open the 'Music' folder, and then delete these two files:
