How to Uninstall Apps on Mac
Uninstalling software from your macOS device is necessary to free up space and prevent your computer from being bloated with unnecessary files. There are two paths to approach the removal process – either by using the Finder or Launchpad utilities.
Uninstalling Mac Applications via the Launchpad
The Launchpad can be opened through the Dock or by finding it in the 'Applications' folder. Once it is open, a list of installed applications will appear – hover over the icon of the one you want to remove, and then press the 'X' to start uninstalling it. This method only works for applications downloaded from the application Store – if you got it from an alternative source, then you will need to use the Finder tool.
Uninstalling Mac Applications via the Finder
The Finder is the best tool to use when trying to uninstall applications from macOS. Use the 'Finder' to go to the 'Applications' folder, and then simply drag & drop the application you wish to remove to the Trash Bin. Make sure to select the 'Empty Trash' option and then restart the system.
