Posted: February 2, 2021

The Sims is a popular computer game available for both Windows and macOS. While the game can offer countless hours of entertainment for you, you are likely to set foot on a point where you are tired of it and wish to remove it to release some space for other games or software. Uninstalling Sims and all game content related to it may not be a straightforward task if you do not use proper instructions. Thankfully, we are here to tell you how to uninstall Sims in a quick and efficient manner:

Uninstalling Sims on Windows

If you are using a copy of Sims installed via the Steam or Origin gaming platforms, then you can complete the game's removal through them. If you are using a stand-alone copy, then you need to start by navigating to the Windows Control Panel -> Programs & Features. Once there, select the Sims game entry and press 'Uninstall.'

To make sure that all necessary files have been removed, open your C: drive and navigate to the folder 'Program Files (x86).' Find the Sims folder in either the 'Steam' or 'Origin Games' directories, and delete it.

Uninstalling Sims on macOS

macOS users who have installed Sims via Origin or Steam should open their gaming platform and then select the 'Uninstall' option next to Sims. In case they are using a stand-alone copy of the game, they need to go to the Documents -> Electronic Arts directory and then delete the Sims game folder.
