Threat Metric
The following fields listed on the Threat Meter containing a specific value, are explained in detail below:
Threat Level: The threat level scale goes from 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest level of severity and 1 is the lowest level of severity. Each specific level is relative to the threat's consistent assessed behaviors collected from SpyHunter's risk assessment model.
Detection Count: The collective number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular malware threat. The detection count is calculated from infected PCs retrieved from diagnostic and scan log reports generated by SpyHunter.
Volume Count: Similar to the detection count, the Volume Count is specifically based on the number of confirmed and suspected threats infecting systems on a daily basis. High volume counts usually represent a popular threat but may or may not have infected a large number of systems. High detection count threats could lay dormant and have a low volume count. Criteria for Volume Count is relative to a daily detection count.
Trend Path: The Trend Path, utilizing an up arrow, down arrow or equal symbol, represents the level of recent movement of a particular threat. Up arrows represent an increase, down arrows represent a decline and the equal symbol represent no change to a threat's recent movement.
% Impact (Last 7 Days): This demonstrates a 7-day period change in the frequency of a malware threat infecting PCs. The percentage impact correlates directly to the current Trend Path to determine a rise or decline in the percentage.

8iz is a browser add-on offered by 8iz.com, an online platform that allows users to choose from a variety of free-to-play Flash games, which don't require an installation to be played. While online gaming portals like these can be great entertainment for a few hours, some of them may offer users to install questionable browser extensions, which may sometimes change the way their browser behaves.
However, this seems to be the case with 8iz whose installation may cause popular browsers like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge to have their settings changed suddenly. The good news is that the 8iz add-on is categorized as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) so that it can't be considered a threat to your online safety. However, PUPs may display weird behavior, which might end up annoying many users, and convince them to uninstall the program in question eventually. It looks like 8iz does not perform any big modifications to the browser's settings so that users who opt to install the extension probably will not end up having their new tab page or homepage changed. For comparison, other gaming add-ons like GamesMuze and gamesNet Search may end up modifying Google Chrome's default new tab page to transfer users to a 3rd-party search engine.
Online reports state that the installation of 8iz may sometimes bring ads to the Web browser, but it seems like that this add-on does not function as aggressive adware. In fact, it is possible that the ads in question may only appear on the 8iz.com website, and this should not be considered to be suspicious. If for some reason, you wish to remove the 8iz software from your computer, there are two ways to carry out this task. Option one is to uninstall 8iz manually, while option two is to use a suitable security tool, which also will make sure to remove any leftover files linked to 8iz.
