Backdoor.IRC.kat

This virus was designed for illegal access and controlling of other people's PCs. The virus uses "trojan" abilities to infiltrate his victim's computer. Once installed, it creates a backdoor in the security allowing the intruder to connect completely unnoticed. Several versions were created, you can find this pest in the internet under such names as Backdoor.IRC.Bnc, Backdoor.IRC.kat, Backdoor.IRC.Wup. The author of this application is a hacker called kat. Variants appeared from September 1999 to July 2004.
