MacSweeper

Posted: January 24, 2008

MacSweeper is a new generation rogue anti-spyware application aimed at Mac OS X users. As all of the rogue anti-spyware programs MacSweeper will display notifications and pop-ups of non-existent privacy threats as soon as it is installed. By displaying exaggerated threat reports MacSweeper will try to trick you into purchasing its full version. In addition, MacSweeper shows commercial adverts, connects itself to the internet and stays resident in the background thus consuming your machine’s processing power and causing its slowdown and instability. iMac users should be aware that MacSweeper is a fraud and should be removed from your system with no hesitation.
