Malware.W64-Shruggle

Malware.W64-Shruggle is a computer worm that replicates as an executable file and hides in the system directory. This worm will run each time the targeted computer boots up. Malware.W64-Shruggle also performs other activities including installing rootkits to hide corrupt files and running processes from the user. This e-mail worm can also use the infected computer for criminal activities by making te PC an element of a botnet that can halt the Internet or network connection of certain machines by bombarding them with too much data requests.

Malware.W64-Shruggle may cause slow Internet connection, data corruption, freezing of running applications, termination of running programs and system crashes. Computers infected with this worm have been used to transmit unsolicited electronic mail messages and for the theft of confidential information. Remove Malware.W64-Shruggle immediately once it has been detected.
