PCClear

Posted: December 16, 2010

A rather deceiving application called PCClear was found to be a fake security tool or what we like to define as a rogue anti-spyware program. PCClear (PC Clear) has an interesting interface that closely resembles legitimate antispyware programs that are well-known to computer users around the world. The major difference in PCClear and legitimate security programs is that PCClear is unable to perform the functions that it claims to. PCClear claims it will detect and remove computer parasites but cannot do either. Instead, PCClear was actually created by hackers with the intent to extort money from gullible computer users.

Basically, PCClear is a deceptive program that mimics the actions of a normal antispyware program to trick computer users into purchasing a full version of PCClear. The ways that PCClear is able to do this trickery is through bogus popup alert messages and system scan results that have been fabricated to be used as a scare tactic.

PCClear is not a trusted program and it should never be purchased because it will ultimately end up in wasting your money. Not to mention, purchasing PC Clear may give up your credit card information to the hackers that promote and sell this vicious program.
