Stinx

Posted: March 28, 2006

Stinx, also known as Brepibot, is a backdoor that gives the remote attacker full unauthorized access to a compromised PC. The spyware is controlled via the IRC network. It allows the intruder to remove, create, execute, download and upload files or differently manipulate them. Stinx can be distributed by e-mail. It may arrive as an executable file attached to a message with the subject "Photo Approval Needed". Stinx is able to bypass Windows Firewall. The backdoor automatically runs on every Windows startup.
