System Warning Pop-up

Posted: April 2, 2009

The "System Warning" pop-up is nothing more than a false advertisement displayed by the rogue anti-spyware application System Protector. Though it may appear to be a legitimate Windows warning message, this pop-up is actually a means to trick you into purchasing the "full version" of System Protector. It is nothing more than a money-stealing scam!

The pop-up may read:

"System warning: Intercepting programs that may compromise your privacy and harm your system have been detected on your PC. Click here to remove them immediately with the latest version of System Protector"

Do not, under any circumstances, trust this pop-up ad and remove System Protector immediately upon detection.
